Spring is around the corner, but you wouldn't know it in British Columbia. With all the lovely rain we've had and myself being short-checked in work shifts lately, I've taken it upon myself to go into "purge mode."

I cleaned out our rather large storage closet and managed to eliminate about 3/4 of the stuff that used to be there. I call this action "purging." Curious enough, I actually looked up the definition on Wikipedia and got a somewhat surprising result considering how North Americans typically use the term. Apparently purge refers to the removal of human beings rather than the removal of stuff! I restrained myself from removing the one human being I live with (my husband Rick) and kept to removing the clutter instead.

The results of my purge helped to locate our unused photo enlarger and an old CD shelf from Ikea which I am now going to sell on Craigslist. If anyone is interested, let me know. And because of the newly created space I have in the closet, I am going to erect some ivar shelves from Ikea to create pantry space.

Cleaning my closet is an obvious win win. I get the peace of mind in having more space in my house by eliminating items I don't use and making money in the process. I also created more storage room for kitchen appliances to get them off my counter-top.

It's quite in here! Why not leave a response?
